Why Corporations are the True Pyramid Structure

A statement we often hear about network marketing is that “the people at the top of the pyramid structure make all the money”. We believe this comes from the mistaken assumption that you have to get in early to a networking marketing opportunity in order to make money.

But that isn’t the case at all. Keep reading and you’ll see why.

In most businesses, the CEO sits at the top of the corporate pyramid structure and makes the most money. In North America, the top 100 CEOs in 2016 made an average income of $10.4 million – more than 200 times an average worker’s salary.

As you go further down to the wider parts of the corporate pyramid structure, the people underneath the CEO, i.e. Managers, administrators, etc., make considerably less money. Think 5 figures vs 8 figures.

Corporate PyramidPeople tell me they would never look at a network marketing opportunity because the people at the top make most of the money.  Yet, they work for businesses where the people at the top make most of the money. A deeper look at how network marketing compensation works will  show that the compensation model in network marketing is very different from the typical corporate structure.

In the corporate structure, employees closer to the bottom will never make more than the person higher in the organization. Getting promoted may move you higher in the corporate structure where you earn more, however, the people above you will still be making more. And working hard is not a guarantee that you’ll be promoted.

REWARDS BASED ON MERIT, NOT POSITION

In network marketing, your income is determined by your efforts, not by your position in the structure. The more effort you put in, the greater you’ll be rewarded.

This is one of the least understood points about network marketing: Everyone has the same opportunity to succeed whether you got started last week or last year.

Pyramid StructureIn network marketing, someone who’s come into the opportunity can make more than someone higher up who enrolled earlier. In fact, this happens all the time.  We see it in our own company.  Each person’s results and income depend on their own effort, not their position.

Isn’t that brilliant? To actually be rewarded financially for your effort, not your position.  (Contact us if you want to know more about how this works.)

This is a fact that network marketing naysayers tend not to mention.

Network marketing provides equal opportunity to anyone who is willing to take the time and effort needed to succeed. Those who follow the training and are dedicated to taking action will enjoy more success than those who make little effort, independent of where they are in the organization.
